Do people fine that their trunk-mounted bike racks get stolen?
Generally when a trunk-mount is on a vehicle and it does not have bikes attached, it is usually at the trailhead parking lot. In my experience, cyclists don’t steal from other cyclists. I would worry more about the car being broken into for other valuables – I know of some budding freeride film-makers that were scouting a trail near Nelson, B.C. and had all their camera and editing equipment stolen from their van at a trailhead parking lot. Video cameras and laptops are a bit more valuble than a TM bike rack to the interior BC crack addict.
