Remove the binder bolt from the frame, then drip some ammonia (REAL ammonia, not cleaner with ammonia in it) around the frame/seatpin area. Continue to drip in ammonia until it is fully saturated. Wait about an hour.

Keep the saddle mounted on the seatpin and use IT to twist the seatpin out rather than a wrench.

Once the seatpin is out make sure to wipe the ammonia from the frame and seatpin. When reinstalling use LITHIUM grease inside the frame rather than copper grease on the seatpin.

well the trek 820 is a nice cheaper bike, and although one of the bottom of the trek range is simple and still a good smooth ride. However, apparently the gearing is not great and cant be pushed over the top. it is suitable for a casual rider who just goes out every now and again for pleasure … and on a budget. For the marlin it is again similar to the trek yet i have been told the ride is better, yet the forks are not the best and not great for intense riding (which you say wont be a problem). It would be more expensive and yet it has a much better frame and ride quality

im not sure what city you live in since you didnt specify but here in houston the bike rack is kind of new. i see both riders and bus drivers put the bikes on the rack and it looks easy. as far as the driver pulling off with your bike thats just as simple as telling them you need to get your bike as you get ready to exit the bus
